Levelbook 1.6 Released

posted May 7, 2014, 2:47 PM by Nathan Bruno   [ updated Aug 28, 2015, 5:08 PM ]

Levelbook 1.6 is a huge step forward for Levelbook.  Many of your ideas and feedback have been incorporated into this amazingly simple and user friendly app.  The major updates for this version are:
  • Attach Photos to a Running Record
  • Import and Export student list
  • Import and Export book list
  • Built-in booklists for Reading A-Z titles
  • Built-in booklists for Fountas & Pinnell titles
  • Add Running Records manually
The photos attachment is a big win for everyone because it enables you to truly go paperless with your record keeping.  Just snap a picture or two of your notes after testing and recycle the paper copy. Setting up your Levelbook is much easier since you can now share custom booklists with fellow teachers via email or simply use the built in book lists for Fountas & Pinnell.  If you would like to see another booklist built in to the app, just email me the list and I'll make sure it is available in the next update. You can import and export student lists in much the same way.  If your district can provide you with a spreadsheet of your roster, you can simply copy paste your students onto the template spreadsheet and import it into Levelbook.

Levelbook is getting smarter and learning how to save you work.  After testing a student, Levelbook will ask you for permission to adjust the students reading level based on their scores.  When you create a new Levelbook file, it is automatically loaded with your assessment booklist based on the reading level system in your preferences. In preparing to test a student Levelbook will present you with the books at the students reading level so that at most, the book you are testing on is only a half a swipe away.

Another big request was for the ability to add running records manually.  You can now add all your running record data from the sad lonely days before you discovered Levelbook.

Check out the new look and feel...
